🚀 Java Backend Engineer

Job Title: Java Backend Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Term: Contract to Hire

Responsibilities:

1. Become a key member of a highly-valuable, innovative team solving the challenge of obtaining product data for the entire company assortment and making it available to various multichannel teams.
2. Help invent the next generation of ecommerce; integrated experiences that leverage product data for various use cases across company stores and mobile.
3. Work with world-class technologists and product visionaries as a contributing member of the company's core engineering team.
4. Design and develop high-performance and scalable applications for use within the company product ecosystem.
5. Be responsible for laying the foundation for the platform as well as proposing solutions to ease software development, monitoring of software, etc.
6. Be excited about making an immediate impact on a global scale.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent industry experience).
2. 5 - 7 years of backend engineering work experience.
3. Strong knowledge of Java and at least one scripting language, Python a plus.
4. Experience with Unix-like operating systems required.
5. Strong experience with backend data processing and databases, both relational and NoSQL.
6. Experience with Hadoop, Hive, and related big data systems is a plus.
7. Experience in building distributed/scalable systems is a plus.
8. Good testing practices (unit, integration, system) with automation.
