DEEP Institute for Deep Tech Innovation is ESMT’s innovation hub dedicated to amplifying our ecosystems’ ability to generate and scale science‑based businesses. We empower scientists to commercialise technologies, support deep‑tech start‑ups to scale internationally, and connect leading research organisations with the start‑up and innovation ecosystem effectively.

Join our DEEP team as

Head of AgTech & Food
(m/f/x, full‑time, 40 hrs./week, starting as soon as possible, limited)

and help shape the future by bringing your expertise and passion to ESMT.

What makes you a great fit

• Have a proven track record in successfully building and managing ventures or businesses
• Bring 5+ years of experience at the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, and the agriculture & food sector
• Have successfully led international teams, ideally in hybrid setups
• Demonstrate the ability to manage complex senior stakeholder environments (C‑level) with strong service orientation and excellent communication skills
• Show a high level of commitment and work ethic
• Are well‑organized, able to multitask, and meet tight deadlines
• Are fluent in spoken and written English

How you will make a difference

• Build and lead DEEP’s new AgTech & Food vertical, reporting directly to the Managing Director of DEEP
• Define the vertical’s product, program, and partnership strategy
• Play an active role in fundraising efforts
• Oversee all vertical operations with a hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset
• Establish and manage strong relationships with partners / stakeholders from research, corporates, start‑up ecosystem, and beyond
• Develop a regional network of seasoned entrepreneurs, deep‑tech investors, corporate leaders, and scientists
• Serve as a visible and vocal ambassador for DEEP on the international stage
• Build and lead the vertical’s future team
