Leidos has an exciting opening for a DevOps Software Engineer to work with a dynamic team designing, developing, and deploying a state-of-the-art technology stack supporting DIA’s Science and Technology Directorate. Under a multi-Task Order 10-year contract, we support the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization program and the Open Source Intelligence Integration Center (OSIC) mission to centralize and standardize Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the DoD and IC enterprise. Most work is on-site at Bethesda, MD, with a flexible schedule and occasional remote tasks.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to designing, deploying, and maintaining a full-stack containerized microservices architecture, including systems administration, installation, and configuration. You will foster a DevOps culture and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline using microservice architecture on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
  2. Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes for faster development and resilient deployments.
  3. Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure in physical and virtualized environments.
  4. Use SaltStack, ArgoCD, and Helm for provisioning, managing virtual resources, automating deployments, and configuring Kubernetes.
  5. Collaborate with System Engineers on CI/CD processes and documentation.
  6. Participate in Agile ceremonies, bug triage, design sessions, and meetings.

Qualifications include:

  1. BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related, with 8+ years in software development or system engineering; 6+ years with Master’s degree.
  2. Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  3. Problem-solving skills, quick learner, and commitment to continuous learning.
  4. Experience working in Linux environments.
  5. Experience with GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory.
  6. Experience and/or certification in AWS.
  7. Container orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  8. Development skills (Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java).
  9. Ability to plan and lead DevOps work.

Preferred additional skills include:

  1. Experience with large-scale systems.
  2. Knowledge of Agile processes.
  3. Experience with enterprise systems.
  4. Technologies such as Kafka, Prometheus/Graphana, GPU-based Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Helm, Nexus, Artifactory.
