Position Description: The Head of Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s technology vision and IT strategy. This role combines the strategic foresight of a Head of Technology with the operational rigor of a Head of IT, ensuring that all technology and information systems support the company’s business objectives, drive innovation, and maintain operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Chief Experience Officer (CXO), this role collaborates with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams to align technology initiatives with business goals, while also overseeing the day‑to‑day management of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology and IT strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Create and manage a technology roadmap that supports innovation, scalability, and business growth.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Technology Architecture & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise‑wide IT systems, networks, security, architecture and infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all technology platforms and services.
- Lead disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
- Review the architecture, systems and applications, and networks quarterly to ensure the budget and the finances are aligned.
- Define and implement the policies for data retention every year for our customers.
- Review the data strategy, data orchestration and architecture with the set automations every year for a better scope in business.
- Expertise on the Servers and VMs to make strategic decisions for optimization of processes and cost savings.
- Hardware Strategy
- Knowledge in the basic hardware configurations needed for processes and performance of the employees.
- Overview of the budget spent and assigned for Hardware and equipment every year.
- Upgrade of the hardware equipment as and when needed for internal employees, after running by stakeholders.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Define, implement and manage robust cybersecurity frameworks and data protection policies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Make informed decisions to implement on‑premises and in‑cloud security measures, with knowledge of security measures.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing team of technology and IT professionals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Provide clear direction, performance feedback, and career development opportunities.
- Oversee the planning and execution of technology and IT projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate new tools and platforms.
- Monitor and control technology budgets, ensuring cost‑effective solutions and resource allocation.
- Define, create, and implement service standards with the IT vendors.
- Ability to work in various methodologies of Project Management like Agile, waterfall, SDLC, Lean etc.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with all departments/teams to understand their needs and deliver technology solutions that drive value.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on all technology‑related matters.
- Promote digital transformation and user‑centric IT services across the organization.
Required Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8‑10 years of proven experience in IT, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role with a clear vision and strategy for IT.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of network management (LAN, WAN, VPN), systems administration, server and database management, and cybersecurity (security frameworks, threat detection, encryption, and risk mitigation).
- Applications: Experience on applications related to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Apps, Custom Applications, e‑learning platforms like Moodle and others, knowledge of developing customized apps using various technologies, and experience of making business level decisions on reporting applications for visibility of data.
- Leadership & Strategy: Proven experience in leading IT teams, aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, developing budgets, managing risk, and driving technology‑driven innovation.
- AI & Emerging Technologies: Strategic understanding of how artificial intelligence and machine learning can drive business transformation, improve decision‑making, and enhance IT service delivery. Hands‑on experience with AI/ML tools, automation platforms, and data analytics to streamline operations and strengthen cybersecurity.
- Project & Program Management: Skilled in strategic planning, resource allocation, and execution of complex IT projects using tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Asana/Trello. Also equipped with methodologies of Project Management like SDLC and Agile.
- Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Management: Hands‑on experience with enterprise‑grade solutions, including VMware vSphere, Cisco networks, Dell EMC storage, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), endpoint security (Symantec, CrowdStrike), and SIEM platforms (Splunk, IBM QRadar).
- Cloud & Platforms: Proficient in leading cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and lead cross‑functional teams. Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zoom, and Skype for Business for effective collaboration and remote team management.
- Core Strengths: Analytical decision‑making, problem‑solving, adaptability in fast‑paced environments, and a customer‑focused approach to IT service delivery.
