AWS is seeking a self-starter to own revenue generation in the Federal Civilian Cloud Computing business. The role involves increasing awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services by engaging with the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) directly, and partnering with an ecosystem of solutions providers who are reinventing their IT strategy through cloud computing solutions.
As an Account Manager within Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will drive growth and shape the future of an emerging technology. Your responsibilities include developing and managing a growing customer base across DOE/NNSA, driving business and technical relationships with urgency, and defining key cloud‑related opportunities. You will collaborate with technical, sales, legal, marketing, product, contracts, and executive leadership teams, working alongside the Federal Civilian Sciences sales manager and account team to shape customer‑focused strategies.
You will define a CXO relationship strategy within the account, engage with AWS senior leadership for executive sponsorships, coordinate executive business reviews, and maintain customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a team‑oriented self‑starter, prepared to own, define, develop, and execute a business plan while consistently delivering on revenue targets and thinking strategically about long‑term customer outcomes. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with the customer to ensure success at all agency levels and across labs for areas of collaboration.
- Understand the CXO and mission business and technical requirements, guiding product direction with internal teams.
- Accelerate customer adoption and ensure satisfaction.
- Set a strategic sales plan aligned with AWS’s broader direction.
- Develop and execute an account plan, meeting and exceeding targets.
- Maintain an accurate and robust pipeline and forecast of business opportunities.
- Identify specific prospects, partners, or channels, communicating the value proposition for each use case.
- Serve as a key member of the AWS Public Sector team to drive overall AWS adoption.
- Understand technical considerations and certifications specific to the public sector.
- Engage prospects, partners, and key customers to grow the sales pipeline.
- Prepare and deliver quarterly and annual territory reviews to senior management, aligning with revenue growth expectations.
- Manage complex contract negotiations and liaise with contracts and legal groups.
- Travel up to 50% of the time, as appropriate.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $142,800/year up to $193,200/year. The National base pay ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in the highest. Pay is based on factors including location and may vary by job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
