Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe‑Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050. Position Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and Capstone’s Values in Action.
  • Lead transformation initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. Implement frameworks for consistent initiative management and portfolio governance.
  • Support teams in defining baselines, establishing KPIs, and delivering measurable performance improvements. Monitor project execution to ensure compliance with governance, budgets, and schedules.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between departments and senior leadership, providing data‑driven updates on project status, risk, resources, and outcomes.
  • Lead cost driver analysis, scenario modeling, and variance analysis to inform operational and capital planning. Enhance budgeting and forecasting frameworks using advanced analytics and financial systems.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.

Position Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in business analysis, operational leadership, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to manage change and guide teams through transformation initiatives.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in the mining industry.
  • CA/CPA qualification.
