Finance Director – Flavor Manufacturing Apopka Facility

We are seeking a high‑performing Director of Finance for the Flavor Manufacturing Apopka facility to oversee financial operations, manage the finance staff, and act as a critical member of the leadership team. The successful candidate will lead the team in delivering accurate financial reporting, product costing, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support the facility’s goals. This strategic role requires proven business‑planning expertise, strong analytical skills, and a forward‑thinking approach. The Director will partner with leadership to drive financial performance and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the facility’s growth and profitability objectives.
  • Collaborate with the facility’s leadership team to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), drive financial performance improvements, and update strategic planning tools (e.g., PESTEL, SWOT) to respond to macro‑environmental factors.
  • Oversee the financial operations of the facility, including financial reporting, general accounting, product costing, inventory management, budgeting, and forecasting. Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide analytical reviews of actual performance versus business plan, lead rolling estimates (RE) process, identify risks and opportunities (R&O), and provide actionable insights to senior and executive leadership. Manage reporting to Flavor Manufacturing Group and the FP&A Consolidation team.
  • Guide appropriateness of costs and allocation methodologies based on local operations.
  • Ensure proper accounting, analysis, and forecast for cost variances, working closely with accounting managers.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the facility’s assets and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee all audit and internal control of operations.
  • Provide financial analysis and support for capital investment decisions, new product development, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct research on infrequent or unusual transactions and implement new accounting standards applicable to operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the finance function and the broader organization.
  • Utilize Project Management Professional (PMP) skills to lead strategic projects aimed at improving financial processes, standardization, and system optimization.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • 5 years in a leadership position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial reporting in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with capital accounting processes.

Technical / Functional Skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high‑performing finance team.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to financial management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in accounting research and the application of new accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated skill in project management within a financial context.
  • Proficiency in internal controls management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural setting (including multi‑generational, multi‑ethnic, and diverse educational backgrounds).

Pay Range: $148,000 – $169,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Annual Incentive Reference Value is a market‑based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
