Job Title: Building Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer to perform initial responses for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, door hardware, and general construction tasks. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to work orders, performing scheduled and corrective maintenance, and diagnosing and repairing system and equipment failures related to all MEP systems on campus.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial response for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, door hardware, and general construction tasks.
- Respond to work orders and perform scheduled maintenance and corrective maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair system/equipment failures related to all MEP systems on campus.
- Replace receptacles, outlets, ballasts, outlets, and switches.
- Repair or replace toilets, sinks, shower heads, urinals, faucets, or drinking fountains.
- Locate and repair leaks.
- Respond to hot/cold calls.
- Safely and correctly operate equipment and utilize trade tools.
- Paint and patch walls.
- Replace doors, door hardware, and locks.
- Replace drop ceiling tiles.
- Repair or replace carpet, tile, or vinyl plank flooring.
Essential Skills
- 5-10 years of commercial building maintenance experience.
- Proficiency in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, troubleshooting, facilities maintenance, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and maintenance repair.
- Valid driver's license.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CFC or EPA certification is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge across multiple trades is preferred.
- Willingness to complete all types of maintenance and repair tasks as a "jack of all trades".
Schedule
- Available work schedules are from 7am-3:30pm, 3pm-11:30pm, or 11pm-7:30am, with all schedules running from Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $ - $ /yr.
