Job Summary
The Lead Mammography Technologist is responsible for providing leadership and clinical expertise in the Imaging Services department. This role involves managing comprehensive patient care, utilizing research and evidence-based practices, and coordinating departmental operations to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all activities between diagnostic testing and nursing staff.
  • Monitor and maintain high-quality patient care standards.
  • Provide operations coordination and professional leadership.
  • Assist physicians in prioritizing workflow and resolving issues.
  • Promote staff professional growth and development.
  • Ensure safe care and adherence to evidence-based practice procedures.
  • Develop policies and procedures for departmental areas.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform imaging on patients of all ages with various conditions.
  • Proficiency in departmental operations and resource management.
  • Commitment to quality improvement and customer satisfaction.
Education / Professional Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Five (5) years of prior experience as an imaging technologist in an acute hospital setting.
Licenses / Certifications
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
  • Registered Mammography Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-M).
