Job Description
The Mammography Technologist performs medical mammograms to diagnose diseases or trauma. This role includes programming the machine for correct density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion. The technologist is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and operating mammography equipment safely and following appropriate radiation safety guidelines. Additional responsibilities include performing and documenting all QA/QC tests as defined by MQSA. There may be requirements to work on a Mobile Mammography Van, including some weekends. All responsibilities apply when assigned to the van.
Responsibilities

• Perform medical mammograms for diagnosis.
• Program mammography machines for optimal imaging results.
• Prepare, maintain, and operate mammography equipment safely.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines consistently.
• Perform and document QA/QC tests per MQSA standards.
• Operate Mobile Mammography Van when needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Graduate from a two-year AMA approved radiologic technology program Required.
• 2 years experience in a Radiologic Technologist position Required.
• 1 year experience in Mammography Preferred.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Mammography required within 2 years from date of hire.
• Reg Technologist (R) (M) Required.
• Mammo Quality Standards Act Required.
• Basic Life Support Required.
