Job Title
Human Resources Director at CBIZ
Responsibilities
- As a strategic business partner, align business objectives with associates and leadership in designated business units.
- Act as internal consultant to management and associates on HR responsibilities including recruitment, employee relations, benefits & salary administration, and management development.
- Serve as change agent and communicate observations and needs proactively to Corporate.
- Maintain business literacy to include the financial position and business objectives of the designated business units and CBIZ overall.
- Develop and preserve effective working relationships with CBIZ associates, business unit leadership, and HR team to impact performance through planning, recruiting, development, and training.
- Partner with leadership to drive business objectives; work with management and associates to improve relationships, culture, morale, productivity, and talent retention.
- Facilitate discussions on employment matters and legal issues; serve as liaison with management and the Employee Service Center on benefits matters.
- Provide ongoing associate/leader education to meet demands of a growing market; contribute input to Corporate HR in policy development.
- Monitor staffing levels, identify recruiting and training needs, ensure smooth onboarding, and balance external hiring with internal promotions.
- Communicate and assist in administering HR programs including salary administration, health & welfare benefits, performance appraisal, and other key programs.
- Champion corporate HR strategic initiatives through communication and facilitation; address disciplinary actions and separations in collaboration with management and Corporate HR.
- Conduct exit interviews and coordinate unemployment claims; may be primary user of HRIS; maintain secure personnel files.
- Supervise HR staff (if applicable) and participate in committees and special projects; perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree required; graduate or specialty degree preferred.
- Approximately 10 years of HR experience; PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Strong HR generalist background with extensive knowledge in performance management, legal (federal/state), employee relations, compensation/benefits, and HRIS.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills; proficient use of applicable technology.
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
- May supervise staff; demonstrates a strong level of independent judgment.
