Overview
Manage and execute event marketing initiatives and best practices to generate leads and ensure the region meets or exceeds sales targets. This is primarily achieved through satisfactory staffing, event booking, exhibit display placement, and event participation and operations.
Responsibilities
- Talent and Team Management
- Recruit and develop event team, including EMM’s and Promoters, to achieve established goals and appropriately staff scheduled and paid events.
- Training, scheduling, and managing up to and including separation of employment as necessary, adhering to all department and HR timelines, guidelines, and best practices.
- Hold/join a minimum of monthly meetings with EMM/GM/RD and weekly EMM.
- Ensure weekly meetings, in person or via Teams, with EMM/Promoters centered around training and improving lead generation. Participate as needed.
- Maintain one office visit per month, on average, with all offices visited once every six months or within business needs. Office visits should include, but are not limited to: training and supporting EMM on recruiting, development, and people management, inspection and inventory of all display materials and resources, review of event schedules and operations/personnel audit with EMM, and working with EMM/Promoters on-site at event operations as necessary.
- Adhere to department best practices and procedures for onboarding and training of EMM and Promoters, including on-site training during the first week.
- In the event of separation or absence of an EMM, fill EMM responsibilities and work in partnership with the local office until a replacement is identified, including recruiting, running events, training, and working events as necessary to limit disruption to the business and operation.
- Develop assigned territory, increasing exposure and market share.
- Find, research, identify, and schedule events for the region and approve them from EMM’s.
- Obtain, track, manage the process of event booking, including contracts, entries, W9, COI, and request cover sheets.
- Coordinate and assist with exhibit display setup and removal at events as needed.
- Manage tools, resources, reporting, and materials for event coordination.
- Develop localized retail partnerships for on-site staffed displays for lead generation activity.
- Optimize potential community entities to implement on-site sponsorship programs.
- Adhere to department processes, procedures, and practices for event scheduling, payments, COI’s, post-show analysis, lead booking, recruiting, and retention, reporting, and progressive disciplinary action.
- Achieving department, regional, and company standards.
- Professionalism, projecting a favorable company image in both behavior and attire.
- Adhere to Human Resources Department policies, processes, and best practices.
- Timely submission of all paperwork, including but not limited to payroll, leads, and reporting.
- Productivity, with a focus on achieving set targets, such as region .30 LPH, $400 CPL, and 20% or lower marketing cost percentage.
- Quality, maintaining above 50% lead conversion, correct information, and submission of leads.
- In the absence of staff, support or work pre-scheduled events as needed.
- This is a hybrid position with travel, requiring work at the office, events, or with EMM/Promoters as necessary.
Maintain standards of performance throughout the department, ensuring all offices meet goals or take steps to improve. This includes instituting systems to replace underperforming staff in a timely manner and minimizing disruption to business needs and leads.
Support additional business needs as assigned by the RD, Director, and VP.
Qualifications
Minimum Skills and Competencies:
3-5 years of event marketing experience or relatable experience.
Multi-site manager experience (preferred).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience and proven success in lead generation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage and develop others in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at one time.
- Travel within assigned region (20-30%).
- Evening and weekend availability/working non-traditional business hours.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable and suitable transportation, and the ability to transport marketing materials and displays to and from scheduled events.
- Lift, move, or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount consistently, within the perimeters of position responsibility.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in lead generation for the residential home improvement industry.
- Leadership or supervisory experience in event marketing, retail, or restaurants.
