Client Services Consultant I – MetLife
Join MetLife as a Client Services Consultant I. In this role you will provide administrative support and client service to MetLife group insurance customers.
Location
Aurora, IL and Tampa, FL. The role may also be based out of any MetLife Group Benefits Regional Sales office. This hybrid position requires office presence two days a week.
Overview
As a new hire in employee benefits services you will complete a comprehensive four‑month training program that combines classroom instruction with on‑the‑job experience. Upon successful completion you will transition into the Client Service Consultant role.
The Team You Will Join
You will work within the employee benefits services team, collaborating closely with internal MetLife teams and clients.
Opportunity
This position is essential for delivering a service experience that exceeds expectations and makes it easy for customers to do business with MetLife. The Client Service Consultant (CSC) is responsible for day‑to‑day administrative service support of multiple regional market clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to client requests, lead projects, and provide alternative solutions, acting as a liaison between the client and internal MetLife teams.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through ongoing client delivery and satisfaction.
- Coordinate and facilitate client meetings (in person or via conference call), prepare materials, agendas, and presentations.
- Lead client account audits and strategic planning, partner with the financial team in completing client reports.
- Understand legal agreements between MetLife and the client and assist in contract execution and compliance.
- Stay informed about competitors’ products, industry trends, and legal developments that impact business.
- Apply analytical skills to the interaction of MetLife’s group products, services, and systems.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of equivalent experience in the insurance space or similar.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Capability to work autonomously, handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and remain flexible.
- General understanding of the U.S. economy and employee benefits industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Self‑motivated to learn about the business and proactive in personal development.
Additional Skills (Edge)
- Experience with Core, Disability, and Voluntary products.
- Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities.
- Project management skills including problem‑solving, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and decisiveness.
Compensation
Expected salary range: $60,000 – $70,000 per year. The role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to applicable plan terms.
