Location: Aurora, IL and Tampa, FL. This role may also be based out of any MetLife Group Benefits Regional Sales office. This role is hybrid, and expected candidates must come into the office two days a week.

Description and Requirements

As a new hire in employee benefits services, you will participate in a comprehensive four-month training program that integrates structured classroom instruction with practical, on-the-job experience. This training is designed to deepen your knowledge of the employee benefits industry, develop your knowledge of MetLife’s group benefits offerings, operational systems, and client service capabilities. Upon successful completion of the program, you will transition into the role of Client Service Consultant (CSC), where you will provide administrative support and client service to MetLife group insurance customers.

The Opportunity

The Client Service Consultant (CSC) is responsible for the day-to-day administrative service support of multiple Regional Market clients. This position is essential for understanding the customers’ needs and delivering a service experience that exceeds expectations and makes it easy for customers to do business with MetLife. Key Responsibilities

Overall accountability for the day-to-day administration of multiple or complex clients, including:

  • Respond to client requests and lead projects, provide clients with alternative solutions to requests, and can identify possible plan design alternatives, acting as a liaison between the client and internal MetLife teams.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through ongoing customer delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and facilitate client meetings, in person or via conference call, prepare materials, agendas, and presentations, lead client account audits and strategic planning processes, and partner with the financial team in completing client reports.
  • Understand the detailed components and provisions in legal agreements between MetLife and the client and assist in facilitating the execution of contracts to ensure compliance.
  • Comprehend competitors’ products, industry trends, and legal developments impacting business.
  • Maintain firm knowledge of MetLife’s group products, services and systems and apply analytical skills to the interaction of these products, services and systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of equivalent experience within the insurance space.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously, effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately, and remain flexible.
  • General understanding of the U.S. economy and employee benefits industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Self-motivated to learn more about the business and proactive in personal development.

Additional Skills

  • Experience with group products such as Core, Disability, and Voluntary products.
  • Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities.
  • Proficient project management skills including problem-solving, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and decisiveness.

The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
