Location : Washington, DC (remote 95% about every 10 days in the office, more in-office time initially in the beginning when cross training)

Hours : 20 hours/week (Monday-Thursday, 5-hour days starting at 9/9:30am)

Salary : $33-35 per hour

Job Description

The Choice is seeking an experienced Benefits Administrator for our client- a prominent, nonprofit in Dupont Circle focused on consumer protection within the financial industry. This person will manage the benefits for their 20 employees.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR benefits experience and familiarity with using brokers
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Experience with HR systems, Google Workspace, and digital documentation. Knowledge of DC health insurance, Vanguard, and Moneywise
• Must be DMV-area based and able to come into the office if needed

Key Responsibilities

• Research employee benefits questions and provide benefits support to employees
• Work with the healthcare broker to support and drive the open enrollment period
• Process FMLA, Parental Leave, STD, LTD, or other long term benefits
• Complete new hire paperwork and systems setup
• Laise with healthcare broker, Vanguard, and Moneywise during onboarding
• Complete employment verifications
• Maintain employee files
• Perform other duties as assigned.
