We value…

  • Human‑Centered Innovation – We build AI that enhances human creativity, not replaces it. We develop our product in a way to empower people to do more, say more, and connect more meaningfully through technology.
  • Speed with Purpose – We move fast, but not at the expense of thoughtfulness. From iteration to execution, we value purposeful velocity that delivers impact without compromising quality.

  • Inclusive Creativity – We believe creativity thrives when different perspectives are welcomed and amplified.

Our hybrid team is based across Kansas City and remote locations, with optional in‑office work and collaborative onsite opportunities.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and lead the development of our newest software, Addi, a transformative, AI‑native application central to our platform roadmap. Addi combines large language models (LLMs), generative AI techniques, and vector database technology.

This is a full‑stack engineering role, encompassing both back‑end and front‑end development along with infrastructure and AI integration responsibilities. You'll be designing and building robust APIs, managing AI pipelines and databases, and also crafting intuitive, performant front‑end interfaces. Experience with data engineering and DevOps workflows is essential, as you'll own the complete application stack — from vectorized data storage and cloud services to dynamic user interfaces — ensuring a seamless, scalable experience from end to end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy new product features across the stack (React/Next.js, TypeScript + Python/FastAPI).
  • Collaborate with design and product to translate concepts into functional, polished experiences.
  • Build robust API integrations, including with OpenAI and internal data services.
  • Maintain clean, modular, and well‑documented code.
  • Contribute to improving DevOps workflows (CI/CD, containerization, AWS infrastructure).
  • Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
  • Help shape technical strategy, architecture, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js (including SSR/ISR and modern hooks).
  • Strong experience building Python/FastAPI backends (or equivalent) and REST APIs.
  • Comfortable with cloud‑based development (AWS preferred) and Dockerized environments.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, async operations, and API performance.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, async team environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI/LLM integration or media/audio processing.
  • Familiarity with vector databases and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), embeddings, or OpenAI APIs.
  • Background in early‑stage product development or startups.
  • Comfort working in a lightly structured, fast‑moving environment.

Culture & Benefits

  • 100% employer‑paid health, dental, and vision coverage (family included)
  • Life/AD&D, short‑ and long‑term disability
  • SIMPLE IRA with employer match
  • Flexible paid time off + minimum 14 holidays
  • Paid parental leave and volunteer time
  • Monthly communication allowance
  • Remote‑first work with optional in‑office time
  • Team events, morale perks, and KC‑based community involvement
