Job Description

The State and Local Tax team is dedicated to helping businesses navigate the complex and ever-changing world of state and local taxation. With deep technical expertise and a client-focused approach, the team provides strategic insights and hands-on support across key SALT areasโ€”including income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, property tax, unclaimed property, and credits and incentives. Their goal is to help clients minimize risk, enhance compliance, and identify meaningful opportunities for tax savings.

What You Will Do:

  • Support and refine property tax compliance workflows, including calendar tracking and fixed asset reconciliation, with attention to accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of personal property renditions across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with team members and contributing to process consistency
  • Review tax bills and assessments to identify potential savings and support appeal efforts under supervision
  • Contribute to client engagements involving valuation studies, obsolescence analyses, and duplicate assessment reviews, with guidance from senior staff
  • Help develop strategies to address property tax issues and improve compliance outcomes through research and collaboration
  • Act as a resource to peers, sharing technical knowledge and supporting team learning initiatives
  • Build relationships with clients and stakeholders, offering insights that support broader SALT objectives and project success

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting tax, property tax, or SALT
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
  • Exposure to tax research platforms (CCH, RIA, BNA) or similar tools.
  • Current and valid CPA, ASA, CMEA, CMI - Property Tax (from IPT) certification, or hold a JD or LLM
