Overview

The University of Southern California (USC) invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. This is a full-time faculty position based in Los Angeles, California, with responsibilities across clinical practice, research, and education.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical duties in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) at USC Fertility, including ultrasound examinations, patient stimulation management, egg retrieval, endoscopic surgery, and embryo transfer procedures.
  • Conduct independent clinical or translational research.
  • Teach medical students, residents in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and fellows in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility; mentor residents and fellows and present lectures.
  • Collaborate in patient care planning, coordinate referrals to specialty and social services, document progress notes, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Explain discharge instructions, arrange follow-up plans, and address patients’ medical problems through appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with therapeutic regimens, family planning, and health maintenance; address medical and psychological concerns as appropriate.
  • Lead and participate in teaching, mentoring, and lectures for trainees at all levels.
  • Engage in independent clinical or translational research with an emphasis on timely scholarly output.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested; the university reserves the right to modify duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current valid license/certification to practice medicine in California, DEA certificate, and CPR certification.
  • Board certification in OB/GYN.
  • Board certification or eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with supervisors, physicians, nurses, staff, students, patients, and families.
  • High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Completion of fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range is $350,000–$400,000, with opportunities for bonus based on clinical activity. USC considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience and education, skills, equity, and market considerations when extending offers.
